Navigate to the sidebar menu: [Protection](docId\:AOavaXBxIc2KMEjwXC3Pi)** **> [Policies](docId\:i3Yd_tV8604vQf9JT7_CC) open a **Standard Policy**, and select the** Applications** tab in the top navigation bar.

## Overview

The **Applications** module provides a granular layer of control, allowing you to block specific apps and services rather than broad website categories. Unlike the Content filter (which blocks *all* social networks or *all* news sites), this module allows you to target specific ecosystems.

:::hint{type="info"}
Example: You can block **TikTok** while keeping **LinkedIn** accessible, or block **ChatGPT** while allowing other AI tools. This feature works by identifying and blocking the specific DNS signatures associated with popular applications.
:::

## Interface Overview

The dashboard is organized into two main navigation areas to help you manage your security policy:

- **Left Sidebar:** Lists the functional groups (e.g., *Business Apps*, *Social Networks*, *Messaging Apps*).
- **Main Panel:** Displays the specific applications contained within the selected group, along with their control toggles.

You may notice a** Clock Icon** next to the app toggles. This feature is designed to set time-based restrictions, allowing you to block specific apps only during certain hours (e.g., blocking Social Media only during work hours).

## Understanding the Modules

The module categorizes apps by function to simplify management. Use this reference table to understand the scope of each group.

## Configuration & Logic

Configuring applications follows the standard blocking logic of the platform:

- **Toggle ON (****):** The application is **BLOCKED**. Users will not be able to open the app or access its services.
- **Toggle OFF (****):** The application is **ALLOWED**.
- **Enable All / Disable All:** Located at the bottom-right of the panel. Checking this box instantly blocks **all applications** in the currently selected category. Unchecking it disables the global block, allowing you to select individual apps.
