DNS Forwarding
Navigate to the sidebar menu: Deployments > Cloud Box and ensure you are on the DNS Forwarding tab.
Overview
The DNS Forwarding section allows you to use DNS servers different from ours. This function is highly useful in Microsoft Active Directory environments or to reduce the traffic sent to our datacenters.
Instead of standard filtering, you can define wildcard domains and specify which internal or external DNS servers to use. A wildcard domain matches the domain itself and all its subdomains.
To avoid configuration issues, these queries must be resolved using a private IP address and not a public one.
Top Navigation Tools
At the top of the forwarding page, you will find the primary tools for interacting with your configuration list:

Search | Located at the top left. Use this to filter the list by entering a wildcard domain name or a specific DNS server IP address. |
Filters | Button positioned next to the search bar to apply sorting and view results grouped by Cloud Box. |
+ Add DNS forwarding | The blue button at the top right. Click here to create a new forwarding rule. Click here to add a new forwarding rule: New DNS Forwarding |
DNS Forwarding List Details
The main grid displays the specific details for every forwarding rule configured in your system:
Interface Element | Focus & Description |
|---|---|
Domain | The specific domain and all its subdomains targeted by the forwarding rule. |
Resolved IP address | The internal or external DNS server IP address where the requests are sent. This must be a private IP address and not a public one. |
Selected Cloud Boxes | Lists the specific Cloud Boxes where this forwarding rule is actively enforced. |
Actions | Click the pencil icon to edit the configuration, where you can associate or disassociate various Cloud Boxes. To delete the forwarding rule, you must first disassociate all linked Cloud Boxes, then click the trash bin icon. |
Initialize Creation
To register a new forwarding rule for your domains, click the blue + Add DNS forwarding button located in the top right corner. A configuration panel will open.
