## Overview

The **Domain Lookup** module is designed to help you quickly **identify **the category of any **domain **and understand exactly how your active security policies are treating it. This is highly useful for **troubleshooting **false positives, verifying restricted content, and auditing your network **security rules**.

**How it works: **You type a **domain name** into the search bar and **run **the lookup. The system queries the global threat intelligence database to **determine **the site categories and then **cross-references** this data against your configured policies to show you a simulated **access **result.

## Interface Overview

The interface is **divided **into the top **search **controls and the bottom **results **area.

### Search Controls

Use these tools to **query **the database for a specific **domain**.

| **Interface Element**        | **Description & Focus**                                                                                                                                              |
| ---------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Search Bar**               | Enter the exact **domain name** you want to **investigate**.                                                                                                         |
| **All policies / Only used** | A toggle **selector** allowing you to test the domain against **every policy** configured in your system or only the ones **currently assigned** to active networks. |
| **Lookup**                   | The blue button that **executes **the search and generates the **diagnostic **report.                                                            |

### Results View

Once a lookup is **performed**, this area displays the **categorization **and policy **evaluation**.

| **Categories found**  | A blue informational **box **displaying the exact **classification **paths for the queried domain.                                                                      |
| **Policy**            | **Lists **the names of the security **profiles evaluated **against the domain.                                                                                          |
| **Domain Status**     | A **label** indicating whether the domain is **Allowed **or **Blocked **under that specific policy.                                                                     |
| **Reason**            | **Explains **exactly why the **status **was applied, such as hitting a specific content **filter **category or being part of an **exception **list. |
