## Overview

The **Settings module** allows you to define the operational behavior and **specific policies** applied to each protection profile. This section lets you manage **security PIN** codes, define how the **agent** behaves within your **office network**, set privacy rules for data collection, and configure **DNS forwarding**.

:::hint{type="info"}
**How it works:&#x20;**&#x59;ou first select the **protection profile** you want to edit from the top drop-down menu. Any **changes** made to the security PINs, office network behavior, privacy settings, or local DNS forwarding rules will apply to all **roaming devices** assigned to that specific profile.

## Interface Overview

The interface is **divided** into several **configuration blocks** focusing on different aspects of the endpoint behavior.

### Policy Selection

Use this top control to determine which group of **devices** you are **editing**.

| --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Protection Policy** | A drop-down menu used to select the specific **security profile** you want to **configure**. All settings and rules displayed below apply only to the **selected policy**. |

### PIN codes

This section manages the temporary **security codes** required to perform critical actions on the **endpoint agent**, ensuring that end-users cannot bypass or remove the protection without authorization.

| ### Interface Element | ### Description & Focus |
| ------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Disable Protection PIN** | The **temporary code** needed to pause or disable the **active filtering** protection directly from the client **interface** on the endpoint device. |
| **Uninstall PIN** | The specific **security code** required to **uninstall** the client software, applicable exclusively to **Windows** operating systems. |
| **Regenerate** | The **blue button** located next to both PIN fields. Click this to instantly **generate** a new security **code**, immediately invalidating the **previous** one to maintain strict **security control** over your deployed agents. |
| **Require PIN during uninstallation** | A toggle switch located below the **uninstallation PIN** that enforces the security **requirement**. When activated, users will be completely **unable** to remove the agent from their **device** without providing the exact **code** shown above. |

### General Settings

These blocks control the core **operational** and privac&#x79;**&#x20;rules** for the endpoint agent.

| --------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Office Stand-Up** | Contains the **Office Protection** toggle to disable the **endpoint** protection automatically when the device connects to your internally **protected** office **network**. |
| **Privacy** | Contains the **Show Username** toggle to **enable** the collection and display of the **username** and PC name within the query logs. This feature should only be **activated** if permitted by your local privacy regulations like **GDPR**. |

### DNS Forwarding

This table **manages** the specific **DNS forwarding** directives for internal domains. Use this area to ensure roaming **devices** can correctly reach your internal **company resources**. This feature is available only on **Windows clients**.

## Configuration & Logic

### Granular Profile Control

By dividing settings **per profile** rather than applying them globally across your entire fleet, you can build tailored experiences. You can enforce strict **PIN requirements** and detailed privacy logging for standard **remote workers** while applying more relaxed rules for internal staff. Setting up **DNS Forwarding** is particularly crucial as it guarantees seamless access to internal company servers and intranets while the **roaming protection** remains actively engaged on external traffic.

## Initialize Creation

To register a new **DNS forwarding** rule for your policy, click the blue <font color="#2563eb">`+ Add DNS Forwarding`</font> button located in the top right corner of the table. A **configuration panel** will open.
