If you have not yet registered for the service you can do so by clicking on the following link: Register here. Connect to the Web panel by entering the IP address of the Ubiquiti in the address bar of any Browser. Then log in by entering your credentials. First you need to change the DNS of the device. To do this click on the [Network] menu then look for the WAN Network Settings item. Enter the address 185.236.104.104 inside the Primary DNS IP field and 185.236.105.105 in the Secondary DNS IP field. Click [Change] to apply the changes.

1. Configure Dynamic DNS Service

Then open the [Services] menu and enable the Dynamic DNS item. Then configure the various fields as follows: » Service: Select Dyndns.org. IMPORTANT: It is not necessary to be registered for the DynDns.org service. The service still works since the Servers redirect the request to themselves. » Host Name: Enter any name you like. For example Filter. » User Name: Enter the username or email you used to register for the Filter Cloud. » Password: Enter your password, received by email to the address specified during registration. Click on the [Change] button to save.

2. Configure the DHCP Server to distribute the Filter DNS to devices within the network

To do this, open the [Network] menu and look for the LAN Network Settings item. Then fill in the fields as follows: » Range Start: Enter the first IP address of the DHCP range. » Range End: Enter the last IP address of the DHCP range. » Netmask: Enter the subnet mask. » Lease Time: Set a DHCP lease time (in seconds). » Primary DNS IP: Enter the IP 185.236.104.104 as the primary DNS. » Secondary DNS IP: Enter the IP 185.236.105.105 as the secondary DNS. Then click [Change] to make the changes.

Alternatively, the DNS of the various devices within the network can be changed manually.

3. OPTIONAL: Deny DNS changes by users

It is possible to increase security by denying the user the ability to browse unfiltered, as a result of changing the DNS on their device. To do this proceed as follows: » Click on [Network] and open the [Firewall] item. » At this point you need to create rules to block all traffic on port 53 (DNS Service), both TCP and UDP, except those directed to our IPs. See the image below to understand how to create the various rules. PLEASE NOTE: It is impostante to respect the order to create the rules correctly. So first there must be the allowed ones and then the blocked ones, as you can see in the image below.
