Download the Hyper-V virtual machine image from the following link: Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machine.
To import the virtual machine into your Hyper-V environment, follow these steps:
- Open the Hyper-V management console and right-click the name of your machine.
- Click "Import virtual machine...."
- Click [Browse...] and select the path where the virtual machine's file folder is located. Then click [Next].
- Click [Next].
- Choose "Copy virtual machine (create new unique ID)" to create a new virtual machine. Continue with [Next].
- Select the location where you want to store the virtual machine files.
Alternatively, you can leave the default values and click [Next].
- Choose the path where you want to place the virtual hard disk for the new virtual machine.
- You should see an error because the name of the virtual switch used during the export process does not exist on your Hyper-V host.
- Use the drop-down menu next to "Connection": to choose the virtual switch you wish to associate with the new virtual machine.
- Click [Finish] to start the virtual machine import and wait for the restore process.
If the import process fails:
- Create a new virtual machine.
- When prompted, choose "Generation 1".
- In the "Connect Virtual Hard Drive" section, select "Use an existing virtual hard drive."
- Navigate to the location where the dnsproxy.vhdx file is stored (you can find it in the DnsProxy_HypervDnsProxyVirtual Hard Disks folder).
- Complete the creation process.
