New exception
Navigate to the sidebar menu: Protection > Policies, click Assign exception groubutton and click + Create new exception group.
Overview
This wizard allows you to define a custom list of domains.
- Purpose: You are creating a "container" of websites that you want to treat differently from your standard policy (e.g., a list of "Whitelisted Partner Sites" or "Blacklisted Games").
- Flexibility: Once created, this single list can be assigned to multiple different policies (e.g., HQ, Branch Office, Guest Wi-Fi) without re-typing the domains.
Interface Overview
The creation window is divided into two logical sections: the group definition and the domain management.

Group Name | A name to identify this list (e.g., "Marketing Whitelist"). |
Type | Select the logic for this entire group: • Allow (White): Domains listed here will always be accessible, even if the category is blocked. • Block (Blue): Domains listed here will always be blocked. |
Add Domain Input | A text box found below the type selection where you type the specific website address (e.g., facebook.com). |
Arrow Icon (➜) | The confirmation button next to the input field. Clicking this moves the domain from the input box into your active list. |
Domain List | Displays all the websites currently added to this group. |
"X" Icon | Located next to each domain in the list. Click this to delete a specific entry if you made a mistake. |
Configuration Steps
Define Group Identity
- Name: Enter a clear, descriptive name.
- Select Type: Choose whether this is an Allow list or a Block list. The selected card will be highlighted (e.g., the "Block" card turns blue when selected).
Populate the List
You must add the domains one by one (or paste them):
- Type the domain name in the input field (e.g., example.com).
- Click the Arrow Icon (or press Enter).
- The domain will appear in the list below.
- Repeat this process for all websites you wish to include.
You generally do not need to type http:// or www. Simply entering the root domain (e.g., youtube.com) covers all subdomains automatically.
Save the Group
Once your list is complete, click the blue Save (or Create) button at the bottom of the modal.
Next Step
You have successfully created the list, but it is not yet active. The system knows the list exists, but it doesn't know which network to apply it to.
To make this list effective, you must now link it to a policy: Assign Exception
