1. Protection

1.1 Thread Protection

Through Threat protection it is possible to block, through certain modes, those that are malware-carrying sites, suspicious domains and more. The flexibility of FlashStart's DNS filtering allows the user various and customized solutions with features that characterize filtering making it convenient and practical.

The filter has macrocategories with subcategories of hazards more specifically within them.

The entire macrocategory can be blocked to not allow any of the categories below it to pass through the filter by clicking on the gray 'Always Block' circle.

Categories Costumization

Ability to extend the group, individually blocking each category as desired, thus having more freedom with respect to content. In case within a macrocategory there are individual items that are blocked and others are not, graphically a green half circle under 'always allowed' and a red half circle under 'always blocked' will be displayed, indicative of a custom category filter.

Block Scheduling

Clicking 'insert' will apply the filter as desired, and the icon shown from the menu will take the form of a yellow clock in the block scheduling part.

Ability to schedule blocks and elements, prohibiting access to certain content only within a time slot, fully customizable by the user by selecting start time, end time, and filter repetition.

2.1 Search and youtube engine protection

Search engine and Youtube protection allows the user to set up a filter that blocks access to unwanted sites such as pornography and other safe and undecent content.

Google/Bing/DuckDuckGo search protection allows the user to block unwanted content from these search engines. The Browser will not show sites that contain undecent content according to these.

2.2 Blocking IP

Blocking threats by IP


Through blocking by IP, it is possible to deny threats directly by going back to the ip instead of the individual domain. This feature allows blocking all domains that pass by a certain IP address. This allows the user to avoid hand-writing every domain that passes by that particular address.

2.3 Geoblocking Protection

Through Geoblocking protection it is possible to block, through certain modes, what is all Internet traffic from specific areas of the world. The flexibility of FlashStart allows the user various and customized solutions with features that characterize filtering making it convenient and practical.

The filter has macro-zones with cities and zones within them more specifically. In case there are individual items within a macro-zone that are blocked and others are not, graphically a green half-circle under 'Allow' and a red half-circle under 'Deny' will be displayed, indicative of a custom category filter.

Ability to both whitelist certain domains in the current profile and make them available in any user profile.

The WhiteListing system allows the user to manually enter domains that will not be blocked even if they are located within a non-navigable category.

3.2 Personal BlackList

Ability, once the domain to be blocked is written, to specify the category of the address as well as an optional comment. Otherwise, you can skip this process by blocking the domain without putting it in a category.

The BlackListing system allows the user to manually enter domains that will be blocked even if they are located within a browsable category.
