SafeSearch
Navigate to the sidebar menu: Protection > Policies, open a Standard Policy or Restricted Policy, and select the SafeSearch tab in the top navigation bar.
Overview
The SafeSearch module allows you to enforce "Strict Mode" filtering directly at the network level.
Normally, users can easily disable SafeSearch in their browser settings to view explicit content. By enabling this module, the system overrides those local settings, ensuring that inappropriate content (pornography, extreme violence, and gore) is filtered out of search results, even if the user tries to turn it back on.
Understanding the Supported Platforms
This module supports the most popular search engines and video platforms. Use this table to understand what each toggle controls.

Bing SafeSearch | Forces Microsoft Bing to use SafeSearch, filtering out adult content from web, image, and video searches. |
DuckDuckGo SafeSearch | Forces the privacy-focused DuckDuckGo engine to use SafeSearch mode. |
YouTube SafeSearch | Enforces YouTube Restricted Mode. This hides videos that may contain mature content, strong language, or violence, making the platform safer for schools and minors. |
Configuration & Logic
The interface uses individual configuration cards for quick activation.
- Toggle ON (Blue): SafeSearch is FORCED. The user cannot disable it on their device.
- Toggle OFF (Grey): SafeSearch is OPTIONAL. The user can decide whether to turn SafeSearch on or off in their own browser settings.
This feature does not block the search engine itself (e.g., users can still access Google.com). It only sanitizes the results they see. To block access to a search engine entirely, use the Content or Applications modules.
